Workshop: Argumentation training against right-wing populist statements
Argumentation training with speaker Angelika Vogt
There are situations to which one would like to react decisively. Unexpectedly, an opponent makes statements that touch on the core of one's own values and thus contradict them - loud, categorical, ultimate and without ifs and buts, or subtle and subliminal phrases and slogans are thrown into the room. Arguments and facts are often disregarded, lies are spread and a simple solution to complex problems is offered. Young people also adopt these behaviors and repeat bogus arguments they have heard. What can be done against such slogans in everyday life, at school, in youth centers or among friends and acquaintances? What reactions help and enable a conversation?
The argumentation training enables the participants to deal with right-wing populist voices and sensitizes them to prejudices and discrimination in society.
