Online seminar: Are we still talking about the climate?

Communicate constructively and inclusively about climate

Conversations about the climate can be very frustrating under certain circumstances - yet we need them today more than ever. Who hasn't experienced it: an innocuous conversation with a colleague in the office, friends or family at home turns into a rollercoaster ride of emotions in seconds. It starts with the simple vegetarian appetizer choice. Then the conversation takes a slight detour about the unnecessaryness of bamboo toothbrushes and a seemingly never-ending discussion about individual consumer responsibility. And a few moments later, a harmless conversation has turned into hardened fronts.

Paradoxically, no issue divides and unites people in Germany as much as the climate. No issue is as important for the present and future of society and the economy as the climate. A systematic approach can help to return to a constructive dialogue. And even if we don't realize it, we all engage in more climate communication than we think - every company decision, every small talk in the hallway, every business trip, every dinner has something to do with the climate these days.

In this course, we will learn about the pitfalls of climate communication, how to avoid them, and how to get back to constructive dialogue and hopefully joint action.

The seminar is divided into a total of three dates:
Fri, 4 November 2022, 13:00 - 18:00
Sat., November 5, 2022, 10:00 - 16:00
S0, November 6, 2022, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Application deadline: October 23, 2022
