Ethics con­fer­ence — Cli­mate Heil­bronn? This is what ecol­o­gist Wolf-Dieter Riexinger says about it.

Every year at the begin­ning of the win­ter semes­ter, the Cen­ter for Stud­ies and Teach­ing orga­nizes an ethics event. This year, the meet­ing will take place with­in the frame­work of five lectures.

Cli­mate change: Effects on flo­ra — fau­na — biotopes in the Heil­bronn region

Ris­ing aver­age tem­per­a­tures, hot sum­mer peri­ods and milder win­ters, as well as the trend toward high­er pre­cip­i­ta­tion in win­ter and dri­er sum­mers, have also been notice­able in the Heil­bronn region for some time. Wolf-Dieter Riexinger, ecol­o­gist at the low­er nature con­ser­va­tion author­i­ty in the city of Heil­bronn, reports on the effects of these changed nat­ur­al con­di­tions on the local flo­ra and fau­na. He uses numer­ous exam­ples to illus­trate changes. For exam­ple, the appear­ance and spread of the fire drag­on­fly, which orig­i­nal­ly has an African-Mediter­ranean dis­tri­b­u­tion, or the endan­ger­ment of amphib­ian species due to dry­ing up spawn­ing waters.
