Dis­cov­er some­thing new: Calisthenics

Pull, hang, push — all with your own body weight. 

Cal­is­then­ics has been a mega-hype in the street work­out scene for a few years now and orig­i­nat­ed in New York. There, small groups inte­grat­ed scaf­fold­ing, bars and bench­es from play­grounds or sports parks into their train­ing. In the mean­time, there are extra cal­is­then­ics parks. We also had a park built for you at the Son­theim campus.

The strength train­ing is a com­bi­na­tion of Endurance, strength and gen­er­al body con­trol. Cal­is­then­ics is com­posed of the Greek words ‘kalos=beautiful’ and ’sthenos=strength’ and describes this trend sport in com­bi­na­tion quite well. One of the goals is to incor­po­rate a cer­tain aes­thet­ic into the move­ment sequences of the strength exer­cis­es, which of course requires a cer­tain basic sub­stance of mus­cle mass and also cor­re­spond­ing strength.

This event is orga­nized in coop­er­a­tion with the AOK Baden-Wuert­tem­berg offered. The event is aimed exclu­sive­ly at enrolled stu­dents of Heil­bronn University.
