Calisthenics has been a mega-hype in the street workout scene for a few years now and originated in New York. There, small groups integrated scaffolding, bars and benches from playgrounds or sports parks into their training. In the meantime, there are extra calisthenics parks. We also had a park built for you at the Sontheim campus.
The strength training is a combination of Endurance, strength and general body control. Calisthenics is composed of the Greek words ‘kalos=beautiful’ and ’sthenos=strength’ and describes this trend sport in combination quite well. One of the goals is to incorporate a certain aesthetic into the movement sequences of the strength exercises, which of course requires a certain basic substance of muscle mass and also corresponding strength.
