Course management for Hector Children's Academies

On behalf of some Hector Kinderakademien, up to 20 course leaders are sought, starting January 15, 2023, who are interested in teaching courses to promote (i) statistical reasoning and/or (ii) spatial reasoning at one or more Hector Kinderakademien sites in Baden-Württemberg to gain experience in extracurricular educational practice.

Typical activities

  • Conduct a 90-minute course (fixed curriculum) once a week for exceptionally gifted elementary school children with the goal of promoting (i) statistical reasoning or (ii) spatial reasoning; period of course implementation: 27.02.2023 until 21.07.2023 except for the school vacations in Baden-Württemberg
  • Feedback on the implementation of the course
  • Free participation in a qualification event in January/February 2023
  • Participation in the accompanying study

Your profile

  • Interest in conducting a weekly class for exceptionally gifted elementary school children according to prescribed lesson plans
  • High degree of independence, structured and careful way of working, reliability and commitment
  • Previous experience in the pedagogical field is an advantage, but not mandatory

Remuneration

Compensation is on a fee basis and is based on the hourly rates for course instructors at the respective Hector Children's Academy.

Hector Children's Academies

The Hector Children's Academies offer particularly gifted and highly talented elementary school children a support program developed for them in addition to their regular school lessons. Around 23,000 elementary school children take part in the courses offered at 68 locations each year.
