With the two films "Unravel" and "Swap T-Shirt for Hope", experimenta and the NaturVision Film Festival are launching a new offering in the Science Dome on September 29. The documentary film series is dedicated to sustainability in the areas of fashion, living and nutrition and invites discourse.
Can fashion be sustainable? And how can clothing be fairly traded? These and other questions will be addressed on Thursday, September 29, at 8:00 p.m. at the opening event of the new documentary film series in the Science Dome. In the short documentary "Unravel," Indian women workers describe their impressions of throwaway fashion, so-called fast fashion, and describe their day-to-day work recycling clothing. This is followed by the documentary "Swap T-Shirt for Hope" by Jonathan Ziegler and Sarah Dorner. In it, the two filmmakers embark on a journey through Germany and India to present projects that take a fair and sustainable approach to the production of clothing.

Discourse and taste journey included
The film evening will be hosted by Olga Berroth, who works with the Stiftung Entwicklungs-Zusammenarbeit Baden-Württemberg (SEZ) to promote sustainable fashion and conscious consumer behavior. Berroth will present innovative ideas from the Future Fashion scene and exchange ideas with the audience on how everyone can contribute to a fairer fashion industry. For visitors to the film evening, the special exhibition "Taste Questions" in the experimenta will be open from 7:00 pm. There, they can learn about their own tastes in fashion, music, food, living and love at 24 hands-on stations, as well as explore the latest trends. Admission to the film evening, including a visit to the special exhibition, costs 6.00 euros for adults and 4.00 euros for concessions. Tickets are available online at the experimenta ticket store and at the box office from 6:45 p.m. on the day of the event.
Other documentary film evenings in experimenta's Science Dome will be held on October 27 and November 24 on the topics of housing and nutrition.
