Elec­tion peri­od 2022

From Sun­day, May 22, 10 a.m. to Tues­day, May 24, 2022, 3 p.m. inclu­sive. you can elect your rep­re­sen­ta­tives in the sen­ate and in the fac­ul­ty coun­cils as well as the stu­dent par­lia­ment. The elec­tions are imple­ment­ed as online elections.

The announce­ment of elec­tion results will take place on Mon­day, May 30 at 2:30 p.m. in Room A 504 at the Son­theim Campus.

Who or what is chosen?

The Stu­Pa rep­re­sents the deci­sions of all stu­dents of the HHN. In total, the par­lia­ment con­sists of 28 stu­dent rep­re­sen­ta­tives (14 direct man­dates, 7 stu­dent sen­ate mem­bers, 7 rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the faculties).

In essence, the work of the Stu­Pa con­sists of co-deter­min­ing the course of the stu­dent body’s high­er edu­ca­tion pol­i­cy, nego­ti­at­ing var­i­ous motions, and adopt­ing statutes, reg­u­la­tions, and guidelines.

The term of office is one year: from 01.10.2022 to 30.09.2023

The fol­low­ing top­ics, for exam­ple, are passed in the Sen­ate: Basic Reg­u­la­tions of the HHN, study con­tents and exam­i­na­tion reg­u­la­tions, struc­tur­al and devel­op­ment plan­ning. Anoth­er impor­tant task of the sen­ate is the elec­tion of the rector.

The sen­ate con­sists of office mem­bers (5 from the rec­torate, 1 equal oppor­tu­ni­ty rep­re­sen­ta­tive) and elec­toral mem­bers (21 pro­fes­sors*, 7 employ­ees and 7 Stu­dents).

The term of office is one year: from 01.10.2022 to 30.09.2023

Each fac­ul­ty has its own small sen­ate, the fac­ul­ty coun­cil. Among oth­er things, deci­sions are made here about study con­tent and exam­i­na­tion reg­u­la­tions, the dis­tri­b­u­tion of funds and the appoint­ment of new professors.

The Fac­ul­ty Coun­cil con­sists of all pro­fes­sors of the respec­tive fac­ul­ty and 6 or 9 elect­ed staff mem­bers and students.

The term of office is one year: from 01.10.2022 to 30.09.2023

The Stu­dent Coun­cil rep­re­sents the stu­dents of the respec­tive fac­ul­ty at the fac­ul­ty lev­el, advo­cates for you in the Fac­ul­ty Coun­cil as well as with pro­fes­sors and lec­tur­ers, and ensures that deci­sions of the Stu­Pa are imple­ment­ed in the Stu­dent Council. 

In addi­tion, he often plans with the respec­tive stu­dent asso­ci­a­tion, inter­nal depart­men­tal events such as small par­ties, first semes­ter wel­comes, excur­sions, etc..

Why YOU should stand for election

It’s sim­ple: to make a dif­fer­ence, to improve your stud­ies, to have a say in how mon­ey is spent, … 

There are many rea­sons why you should stand for elec­tion. But the most impor­tant one is: To have a say and to decide! To be able to live out democracy!

Elec­tion proposals

Two ways of sub­mit­ting the elec­tion pro­pos­als are offered:

Paper bal­lot pro­pos­als may be placed in one of the fol­low­ing mailboxes:

  • Cam­pus Son­theim: Mail­box at the main entrance of build­ing A
  • Bil­dungscam­pus: Mail­box at the main entrance of build­ing N
  • Künzel­sau Cam­pus: Mail­box at Build­ing G
  • Schwäbisch Hall Cam­pus: Mail­box Ziegelei­weg 4

A spe­cif­ic form is required for the paper form. The forms required for this can be obtained in advance from the elec­tion man­age­ment ( must be request­ed. In this case, an addi­tion­al dec­la­ra­tion of con­sent must be
be hand­ed in.

Elec­tron­ic “forms” for the elec­tion pro­pos­als will be here in ILIAS is made avail­able to you. The link must be accessed via the uni­ver­si­ty account.

If you would like to ini­ti­ate an elec­tion pro­pos­al in ILIAS, i.e. if you are will­ing to be the rep­re­sen­ta­tive (“list man­ag­er”) of the elec­tion pro­pos­al, please con­tact Ms. Ker­stin Steim­le ( Ms. Steim­le sets up read and write access to the elec­tion pro­pos­al for the list offi­cers and their deputies.

Any­one wish­ing to reg­is­ter as a can­di­date and/or sig­na­to­ry (sup­port­er) in the elec­tion pro­pos­al must do so via their uni­ver­si­ty account. Access via the uni­ver­si­ty account is con­sid­ered the same as a hand­writ­ten sig­na­ture in the paper-based procedure.

The dead­line for sub­mit­ting elec­tion pro­pos­als is Sat­ur­day, May 07 at 3:00 pm. 

The announce­ment of the approved elec­tion pro­pos­als shall be made with­in the frame­work of the elec­tion announce­ment at the lat­est on May 16 (§ 11 of the elec­tion reg­u­la­tions) under
