With a holistic and networked counseling offer, the HHN and external partners would like to support you in making your studies successful. The consultation takes place Confidential, neutral and open-ended. Your interests, goals, perspectives and questions are the focus. We support you in finding individual solutions and promoting your skills.
The Central Student Advisory Service helps with study orientation and organization. In addition, you will receive support through learning and skills counseling, with exam anxiety and topics such as doubts about studying and individual part-time study.
The Student Service Office is part of the ZSB. It serves as a contact point in everyday student life and helps to find the appropriate counseling centers and contact persons.
The Academic department is divided into the Student Secretariat and the Examinations Office. They each have a contact person for your study program.
The International Office is happy to advise you if you are interested in a scholarship or a stay abroad and has following tasks:
- Support for the internationalization of HHN
- Central coordination of foreign contacts
- Conclusion of university cooperation and bilateral agreements
- Implementation of the Erasmus+ program at Heilbronn University
- Contact for students — partner universities — professors — employees
- Advice / information on stays abroad and scholarship opportunities
- Supervision of international exchange students (Incomings)
- Mobility measures for Erasmus+ staff mobility
- Application and processing of various other funding and scholarship programs
Family friendliness is not just a buzzword at HHN. In a certification process lasting many years, we have established structures that support parents and carers in finding good compatibility solutions. As a family-friendly university, we are happy to support you in your family life through our family service. Study with child or Study with nursing tasks support.
For example, we advise on:
- Regulations for studying fathers and mothers (taking exams, family-friendly study times, extension of study time)
- Study financing with child
- Childcare services at the sites
- Support for students with caregiving responsibilities
At HHN, no one shall be unlawfully discriminated against on the basis of gender, ethnic or social origin, physical appearance, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion or ideology. Violence, bullying and stalking are also prohibited. Discrimination is not always recognizable at first glance and is not always clear-cut. Feel free to contact us in such situations. We will help you.
Should you hear from Discrimination If you are affected, you can get confidential support from the university’s complaints office and various contact persons.
Female students can also contact the Equal Opportunity Officer and her deputies confidentially.
The representatives for students with disabilities support and advise you on options such as disadvantage compensation or study time extensions. The representatives are responsible for any form of impairment, regardless of whether physical, mental or other limitations make it difficult for you to study.
The free psychosocial counseling center of the Heidelberg Student Union offers students expert advice in all personal conflict situations. Both private and study-related problems can find room in the counseling center.

The Career Service supports students in their entry into professional life with a series of events, advisory services and a career platform with job offers. The series of events includes webinars, lectures and workshops on the topics of job applications and career entry. Individual consultations and application portfolio checks are offered on several dates during the semester.
If you are interested in an internship abroad, then the International Career Service is the right place for you. Here you will be supported in the application process. It is also the contact point for international students who want to apply in Germany.
STARTKLAR supports students and members of the HHN who are interested in founding a company to go their own way and to actively shape the future. No matter if you have already found your idea or if you just need first information: we are THE contact persons for all questions concerning entrepreneurship and startup culture at HHN.
The Church on Campus in Heilbronn (previously: Evangelische & Katholische HochschulGemeinde Heilbronn) is a meeting place for the students, staff and faculty of all Heilbronn universities. Everyone is welcome here!
The Pastoral care takes place by appointment through the university chaplains in Heilbronn and Künzelsau.
